Lab 6: DEM in ArcGIS

The area I chose is the mountain range west of Boulder, Colorado, with an extent of 39.823 to 40.164 North and 105.281 to 105.623 West, in the North American 1983 Geographic Coordinate System. I chose this area because I knew that Boulder is surrounded my many mountains and I think that it is a beautiful place.  The majority of the area has a relatively gentle slope, as indicated by the large amount of yellow in the slope map and the large amount of green in the hillshade map, though a few areas do have relatively steep slopes.  The aspect map gives an idea of the orientation of the faces of the mountains, and the 3D image gives a good picture of what the surface of the mountains actually look like.
